Interview process

  • One stage interview process of around 45 minutes via Teams

Main Responsibilities:

As a Senior Technical Producer for the Popular Music radio networks in the Media Operations team you will be key to ensuring our live and pre-recorded programmes make it to the audience.

The role will support production teams across internal and external suppliers in delivering world class programming, providing technical production expertise for a wide range of situations including the most complicated and demanding productions in order to realise editorial ambitions.

You will relish working in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritise tasks quickly to ensure the continuity of the services we support.

Tasks will range from devising workflows, maintaining technical production systems/kit and driving broadcast desks to put outside broadcasts to air through to delivering training, scheduling pre-recorded programmes in Dira Autoplayer and taking responsibility for ad hoc projects.

We would look for you to be an active participant in fostering a learning culture throughout Popular Music which promotes best practice and technical excellence.

You will be resilient, highly motivated and be able to remain calm under pressure.

You will have a passion for the editorial content of the Popular Music services and be a team player as well as being able to work on your own.

Whilst the job is in the main Mon-Fri work pattern, you'll occasionally work late/early shifts and weekends and bank holidays as determined by the editorial demands of the Popular Music services.

If you have an enthusiasm for delivering high quality produced content to millions of listeners along with a passion for operational work in a live, fast-paced environment then we'd like to hear from you.

We focus on hiring for potential at the BBC, so the main requirement for the position is a strong testing mindset.
