An exciting opportunity has risen for a Band 4 Emergency Department Patient Pathway Flow Coordinator.

This post is a 37.5 hours, with flexible working pattern as shifts which will include both weekend, evening and night working.


The ED Patient Flow Coordinator is responsible for the overall movement of patients through the ED in a safe and efficient manner.

The position will coordinate all patient care activities and be a liaison to the ED medical and nursing staff to ensure that care will be delivered in a safe and efficient manner with in the 4 hour standard.

The ED Patient Flow Coordinator is responsible for having a "helicopter view" of the status of the entire department including the UCC and Paediatric Emergency Department including being a role model for teamwork, leadership and professionalism with in the ED.

The Flow Coordinator team will be supported by the Assistant Service Manager, Service Manager as well clinical Nurse Mentors and the wider Emergency Department team.

Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to work well with others within different roles within the Emergency Department are key to this position, as is strong administrative experience and the drive to improve patient care
