Brief job description:


Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a First Line Support Apprentice with Antar Information Technology an IT Consultancy based in Sale, Manchester.

The job is not just one of fixing problems.

It is to ensure that both our own and our customers' systems run as smoothly and as efficiently as possible.

We take a proactive approach to support and try to identify and fix issues before they become a problem.


In many instances, you will be the first point of contact, so a good understanding of customer care is essential.

You must ensure that all requests that are assigned to you are dealt with efficiently and effectively, keeping the customer informed of progress, and logging resolutions for future reference.


Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

  • To assist our experienced IT technicians in the day-to-day running of our own computer systems.
  • To provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to Antar's customers adhering to set SLA's, recording all reported problems and resolutions using our Help Desk system.
  • To install, configure and maintain computer hardware.
  • Software installation, maintenance and upgrades.
  • Working alone with minimum supervision.
  • Maintaining customer and internal documentation.
  • Keeping abreast of latest technological developments in both hardware and software.
  • Installation, configuration and support of telephony systems.

Qualifications:


  • 5 GCSEs grades A*C/94 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

  • To be capable of prioritising your workload.
  • To be flexible and to have the ability to work in a highpressure environment.
  • To meet deadlines.
  • To be able to selflearn and independently problem solve.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure
  • physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance
  • Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
  • Support the information systems needs for your business.
