As an Environment and Industrial Risk Manager at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you'll be contributing to an ever growing established recycling and recovery company that's helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resourcesand reduce landfill.
To provide advice, guidance, support, and recommendations to the regional operations management team and to ensure all activities are undertaken in full compliance with SUEZ requirements for environment and industrial risk, sustainable development, environmentalpermits and legislation, and ISO standards with required certifications including:
Implementing and maintaining site-specific environmental management systems at all SUEZ locations within the South East region
Monitoring and managing Environmental Permit compliance across the region
Environment and industrial risk reporting (including major risks)
Management of significant non compliances at regional level and liaison with the regulators
Production of regional monthly business review
Assist in the management and update of the SUEZ IRM (Insurance Risk Management) platform for the UK
Training and briefing of EIR issues across all levels of the business
What are the requirements?
Degree or equivalent in Environmental Sciences.
Professional membership of relevant bodies in order to keep up to date with the latest standards.
At least five years' knowledge of Management Systems is essential.
Environment permits require all activities to be undertaken to 'best available techniques' (BAT) and thus the post holder needs to keep abreast of changes within all activities of the industryand to ensure sustained accreditation to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards.
A detailed understanding of project management approaches. The work requires good project management skills to ensure the correct information is provided within the statutory timescales.Knowledge of legal reporting requirements - for example waste returns, energy efficiency, and other permit requirements.
