College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine / Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies/ The Equine Hospital

Fixed term contract, 18 months

Full time, 35 hours per week plus OOH commitment
**Commencing June 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter
Equine internship at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh.


The Opportunity:


This 18-month rotating equine internship position provides the opportunity to work at the R(D)SVS, develop your career and live in one of the best cities in the world.

The hospital has an impressive range of equipment and facilities where you will work with an experienced and friendly team of Board specialised clinicians and residents.

You will gain experience in equine medicine, surgery, dentistry, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia and sports medicine.

Opportunities are available for research and publication with access to a wide range of university courses.


This post will provide significant clinical exposure and ideal preparation for those seeking to enter a residency program, as well as those wishing to return to practice with a broad range of skills.


Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Motivated and enthusiastic member of RCVS
  • Appropriate English language qualification
  • Minimum of 6 months prior relevant veterinary working experience
