Summary of Role:
The Strategic Capture Leader will be expected to display exceptional levels of leadership and collaboration to develop and deliver compelling win strategies with our partners to meet our customer needs.
They will be accountable for all activities required to ensure Raytheon are successful in winning our strategic opportunities, using the best practice including the principles of the Shipley method.
This is a complex and challenging role that will be both highly rewarding and high profile.The role has extensive communication and interfacing requirements with all Front Line Commands, DE&S and other procurement organisations, demanding excellent interpersonal skills and high levels of energy and stamina.
The role will be delivered through our Hybrid working model, but the Capture Leader will be expected when appropriate to lead collaboratively onsite, in our locations across the UK.
It is anticipated that there would be some international travel to the US and other locations.Background/ Personal Requirements:
- Proven track record in delivering successful capture of significant (£200m+) opportunities in defence and aerospace.
- Significant experience in Business Development and Capture with the UK MOD and international defence customers
- Demonstrable experience of building and shaping relationships with senior UK MOD, UK Government and other significant stakeholders
- The experience and confidence to engage and influence senior business leadership to support business winning
- Demonstrable knowledge of capture best practice e

Shipley, and experience of tailoring appropriately for specific opportunities
- Ability to gain SC Clearance as a minimum
Key Skills:
- Identify and leverages customer decisionmakers and influencers and their interrelationships throughout the capture process to assure capture is properly customer focused
- Develop and execute customer engagement plans that address customer's internal factors; external factors; and customer's perceptions of Raytheon to shape procurement decisions and ensure customer success
- Use competitive intelligence tools and techniques to learn and assess customer issues, hot buttons and key performance parameters and appraise competitor's potential solutions
- Successfully maintain continuity of customer relationship through all phases of capture and transition to contract award
- Successful build long terms collaborative relationships with partners and supply chains. Building diverse teams that deliver for our customers.
- Translate win strategy into executable capture plan and proposal development plan and take these through the gating approvals process
- Take the initiative to build an effective, motivated, and winning capture team by identifying and obtaining key crossfunctional personnel and other required resources
- Act as a mentor to other members of the capture team as required
- Drive the capture team to develop differentiated customer focused solutions based on an analysis of customer requirements, issues, hot buttons and key performance parameters; and an assessment of competitor's potential approach and solutions
- Use proven financial management tools and techniques to deploy company investment and resources in a holistic manner to realize win strategy
- Work with proposal managers to develop proposal strategy, proposal plan, and proposal budget and effectively transitions capture strategy to proposal strategy
