About the role
Balfour Beatty are currently looking for a
Stock Controller join our Plant & Fleet team based in
Derby.
Role purpose:
A key member of the Plant and Fleet OHL Back Office Team with the prime responsibility to undertake the associated activities related to the departments Plant and Logistics stock management.
Key Accountabilities:
Ensure that stock levels and all associated transactions are accurate when compared against records.
Ensuring all activities required to maintain an accurate and transactional stock holding such as additional procurement, rectification of discrepancies and maintaining the compliance to standards are completed.
What you'll be doing
- Completing regular Physical Inventory (PI) counting in the Stores/Workshop/Yard locations, conducting subsequent stock variance investigations to a resolution.
- Take ownership for and liaising with internal and external customers to respond to requests and queries for and
- On/Off Hire transactions processing
- To coordinate and accurately manage stock by ensuring all relevant procedures are followed.
- Take ownership and resolve any stock issues including procurement and transactional movements.
- Maintaining and updating computerised stock control records
- Support activities to include the correct use and audit of the IT systems, coordination of GRN's, PAT testing and
- Assist in creating purchase orders for new stock in line with company procedures.
- Ensure all orders are received within SLA's and promptly follow up suppliers where deadlines are not met.
- Provide full support and assistance to the Systems & Compliance Manager as required.
- Provide ad hoc management information reports as required.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Company Safety Rules, Health & Safety Legislation and Environmental Standards.
Who we're looking for
- Inventory management and stock control knowledge and experience and experience of "lean" techniques desirable.
- Competent in the use of the main MS 365 platforms i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook along with stock management systems.
- Plant & Tool hire experience beneficial.
- Good understanding of stores/warehouse operations.
- Experience of working in a stores/warehouse and office environment.
- Excellent Team working & Interpersonal skills.
- Reach Truck and Counterbalance forklift truck licenses would be advantageous.
