About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced operations manager to join our existing Heads of Department to deliver advice services to clients at Citizens Advice Plymouth.

After three years of exceptional growth, this additional Head of Department post will lead and support the ongoing development of our advice services.

We support clients locally in the Plymouth community, and nationally across our contracts with energy providers.

This post is responsible to the Director of Operations, and you'll be responsible for managing our managers to deliver the day-to-day operation of our advice delivery.

This role will have a hybrid contract, with a minimum expectation of 4 days a month in the office at Cobourg House, 32 Mayflower Street, Plymouth.

You will also be expected to attend the office at short notice if required.

During your initial first 3 months you will be expected to attend the office more frequently for induction, and specifics of your hybrid working pattern can be agreed in your first few weeks.

Who we are looking for:

You will be an inspiring leader who enjoys creating atmospheres where people can thrive and ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.

You'll be experienced in managing a team to deliver high performance while putting people at the centre of everything you do.

You'll be passionate about developing our partnerships, with a proven ability to build and develop strong and long-standing with external stakeholders.

You'll look for ways to make our department's processes efficient and accessible, to ensure we provide straightforward ways for as many clients as possible to access our services, while making sure we meet our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

You'll have an excellent eye for detail and be able to deliver a high quality service for clients and communities across the country.

You will be effective at coaching and mentoring the people you manage, and able to develop them well, both in their current roles and to progress through the organisation.

You have excellent communication skills, able to communicate assertively but calmly and compassionately, speak confidently to people at all levels of the organisation, and write clearly and concisely, avoiding the use of jargon where possible.

Excellent IT skills are essential, and you enjoy working as part of a busy, motivated and supportive team, able to adapt well to changing priorities.

You will have an excellent understanding of equality, diversity, inclusion and work to promote and enhance this through our organisation.
