Description
Airpets is one of the UK's leading pet relocation companies. Family owned and operated since 1966, Airpets occupies 4 acres opposite Heathrow Terminal 5. Facilities include over 140 kennels, exercise paddocks and on-site veterinary surgery.

We now seek a highly motivated individual to assist with the daily operations of our Animal Lounge service.

Primarily a customer service role, the Animal Lounge service consists of liaising directly with some of the largest airlines at Heathrow airport, their passengers and pet travel agents to help facilitate the safe and compliant movement of pets around the world.

Experience of the pet travel process isn't essential, but is preferable.

You may need to handle Cats and Dogs of all sizes and temperaments and carry out manual handling tasks such as moving and lifting travel kennels in and out of vehicles with the assistance of other staff.

Full training will be given on the pet travel process and compliance.

  • Experience working with Cats and Dogs.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
  • Fine attention to detail whilst working under pressure.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Selfmotivated.
  • IT literate and have experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Happy to work outside in all weathers.
  • Flexible to meet business needs.
  • Clean driving license.
No two days in this role are the same, but some of your day to day tasks could include assisting the Animal Lounge Manager with:

  • Pre-flight pet check ins, providing a warm welcome to agents and customers.
  • Following IATA Guidelines to ensure pets, crates and documents are all compliant for travel.
  • Creating Air Waybills.
  • Raising invoices.
  • Booking preflight vet checks.
  • Booking kennel space.
  • Building, labelling, and prepping travel crates.
  • Creating and prepping documents.
  • Liaising with airlines, agents and customers.
  • Aiding the driving team.
  • Keeping owners informed on their pet with photos and updates.
  • Walking and playing with pets

With great opportunity for on the job training, this role would suit someone with cargo experience looking for a new challenge, or somebody passionate about animals wanting to start their career in the pet travel industry.
