Credit Risk Manager - Glasgow


Change Recruitment Group are working with a leading Financial Services client in the search for a Credit Risk Manager to join their team based in Glasgow.

The team is responsible from for the credit risk management of the portfolios under their remit.

They own and manage the existing suite of models across the model lifecycle to ensure that they comply with internal and external model risk requirements.


This is a dynamic role working with technical specialists to understand the business strategy and translate this into a risk grading as well as overseeing the development of models to support the department.

The role holder will assist the Team Head in managingexisting models across the model lifecycle in accordance with internal and external requirements.


Key responsibilities:


  • Represent the Model Owner for a portfolio of models and fulfil model governance responsibilities
  • Understand the models, their use, performance and assist the Team Head in creating and delivering a suite of training material for users and senior management
  • Support the team head in providing Model Owner input and the coordination and control of model projects
  • Control the delivery of agreed model actions including model development, monitoring, validation, regulatory compliance and any specific actions from those tasks
  • Communicate analytic results to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Presentation of analysis and results to senior management and stakeholders
  • Contribute to engagement with other teams across Risk and the business to agree strategy and prioritisation to ensure smooth delivery of objectives
  • Key relationship with model stakeholders to undertake and coordinate the model ownership tasks
  • Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements

Key skills and requirements:


  • Proven credit risk and/or risk modelling experience
  • Proven understanding of model risk and the fundamental principles of the CRR regulations relating to models
  • Strong analytical skills, specifically the ability to digest and interpret technical material and present this to key nontechnical stakeholders
  • Selfmotivated with ability to use initiative
  • Ability to deliver accurate results within tight deadlines
