About the opportunity

Place of work:

This role can be based anywhere in the U.K, but visits to the London office and travel to fundraising events, meetings and Action Tutoring regions will be required.

Travel to London will be required from time to time, for which travel expenses will be reimbursed in line with our expense policy.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Corporate Partnerships Team to encourage corporate support through donations or grants.
  • Support the Fundraising Manager with the reporting required for Action Tutoring's current funders and with regular communications to them, for example sharing our annual impact report, thank you communications and Christmas cards.
  • Work with the Fundraising Manager to ensure that we have strong and appropriate marketing content to support fundraising activity, for example developing supporter communications, evolving our guide to fundraising, maintaining accurate fundraiser profiles on the website and contributing to the development of our annual impact report.
  • Working alongside the Fundraising Coordinator (Events, Campaigns & Individual Giving) to support with any key profile raising or fundraising events, for example, Action Tutoring celebration events or funder breakfasts, by inviting current funders and potential funders, including corporate partners.
  • Represent the charity at relevant events.
  • Maintaining accurate funder and major donor records by keeping our funder CRM system (Donorfy) up to date, and regularly reviewing JustGiving donor data.
  • Work closely with the Fundraising Manager and CEO to ensure that fundraising targets are met.
  • Whilst this role is predominantly focussed on generating sustainable income from trusts, foundations and corporate partners, you may also be required to support the Fundraising Manager and Fundraising Coordinator (Events, Campaigns & Individual Giving) with relevant activities, for example, our annual Big Give Christmas Challenge, in addition to supporting any adhoc duties as deemed necessary by the CEO.

Person Specification

Qualifications criteria:


  • A*C in maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent experience).
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in fundraising.
  • Right to work in the UK.

  • Highly organised; able to prioritise, multi task and manage work to deadlines
  • High computer literacy
  • Adaptable and open to learning and feedback

You will likely be more successful in this role if you have:

  • Some prior experience of fundraising work. This could be in a paid role, or on a voluntary basis or as part of work experience.
  • Experience of building relationships with stakeholders.
