At Ar Curam, we provide care, support and accommodation for children and young people aged between 8-17 years old in small residential care homes where we aim to achieve excellent outcomes for the children and young people in our care.

We have some exciting opportunities to join our expanding organisation in the form of Senior Residential Childcare Workers. Our current location for which you will be considered are Redcar, New Markse, Thornaby and Yarm/Eaglescliffe.


We are looking for Senior Residential Child Care Workers to join our team who are passionate about effecting long term change in the lives of vulnerable children and young people by providing essential support that enables them to reach their full potential.


The successful individual will work as part of the Management team, supporting with tasks which will support the management team and the service.

You will ensure the effective and efficient running of the service, including ensuring staff engagement, development and performance in their contribution to delivery of this service.

You will take part in the on call rota therefore require to be confident in your decision making abilities.


Applicants should have at least 2 years experience in Residential Child Care and possess your QCF Level 3 or 4 in Children and Workforce Development (or accepted equivalent) in line with the Children's Homes Regulations.


You will also be required to undertake the level 5 QCF Supervision and Appraisal module within 3 months of commencement of post.

To work with us, you will need to demonstrate your passion for working with young people.

You will be motivated, empathetic and understanding, able to establish and build on nurturing meaningful relationships which will enable you to fully understand the young persons views, wishes and feelings to allow us to effectively advocate for them.


A full driving licence is preferable in order to undertake the full duties of the role which includes accompanying our young people on outings, meetings or responding to emergency situations appropriately.

Applicants without a driving licence will be considered in line with balancing the teams needs as well as the Equality Act.
