Description
Typical tasks to be performed in this role at the early stage of the employment, shall include but not be limited to:

  • Taking various survey notes and assisting with recording high resolution geo-referenced photos and videos during various site activities
  • Assist senior surveyors during the site survey process by utilising various high precision survey total stations, GNSS receivers, terrestrial laser scanners, drones, groundpenetrating radars, and other state of art surveying technology.
  • Carry out desktop survey computations, drafting, and analyses.
  • Prepare computeraided drawings and models.

Desired qualifications

  • A-Level, BTEC National Diploma or HE qualification.

Working hours


Site or Office working hours are between 8:30 am to 5 pm, excluding travel time to site, and include 1 hour of paid lunch break.

When working during a weekend or on an overseas project you will be paid at a double rate in addition to all other expenses paid and excellent hotel accommodation.

Please note, working as a Land/Geomatics Surveyor sometimes may require longer working hours, weekends, or shift work to meet project deadlines, which is all paid as overtime.

Bank Holliday work is also paid at a triple rate.


What to expect

  • Please note, surveys play a paramount role in the next stage of a given project, therefore in addition to the requirement for each project to be completed to strict deadlines, and sometimes the client can request a lastminute change to survey specification which requires site mobilisation at short notice.
  • We work for several European Clients in Germany, France, Switzerland and The Netherlands, on a shortterm basis project ranging between 3 days to 2 weeks, during which time the surveyors will be required to remain abroad.
  • The Company will pay for one annual Institute membership per year directly into the institution's bank account and all apprentices will be enrolled on the company approved development scheme with the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors.
  • All expenses which will occur in the proper performance of your duties will be reimbursed. Subject to terms of any applicable expenses and allowance policy of Bernard Geomatics Limited.
