WHAT TO EXPECT


Reporting into the Planning Excellence Manager, the Vehicle Line Planner (Cross Car Line) will work closely with the Vehicle Line Planning Squads in support of cross car line requirements such as SV Programmes and shared capacities to ensure that plans are fully optimised.

It will look to cement excellent cross-functional relationships in the co-ordination of Forecasting and Capacity Planning, Order management, allocation planning and Launch activity with all stakeholders.

This is to ensure a Modern Luxury delivery experience to our Customers and a smooth flow of information across the end-to-end supply chain planning team.


The Vehicle Line Planner (XCL) will attend and represent the Supply Chain planning function in all related Governance and Programme Development meetings - such as LPOM's, Launch Gateway Reviews, Chapter Reviews.

Following on from these, they will need to communicate effectively back into the Vehicle Line Planning teams. This role is broad in scope and varied in nature and provides an excellent development opportunity. It requires flexibility in what can be complex and challenging environment.

Further duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Encourage and ensure strong, proactive communication and transparency of plans with all stakeholders and support process improvement and planning workshops across the vehicle line planning team.
  • Support the Planning Excellence Manager to identify gaps in processes
  • Implement plans to close the gaps identified
  • Support the Vehicle Line Planning team in the transition to digital vehicle line planning
  • Working together with our Supply Chain Transformation team in leveraging digitallyled & dataenabled planning technology

WHAT YOU-LL NEED


Once in post, to be successful in this role, you will need detailed knowledge of JLR products, markets, plants and major suppliers as well as being analytical, data driven, and process orientated.

As this is a mid-senior role, you should be comfortable working independently as well as within cross functional forums.


Essential for this role, you will need relevant and previous experience in Logistics, Manufacturing, Supply Chain - as well as experience of end-to-end supply chains and of Planning Processes.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • A good understanding of Programme Launch planning, manufacturing planning and commercial demand & supply planning.
  • Has insight and experience into company systems, particularly as they relate to the launch planning processes (such as PLO, Anaplan, Vista, Manufacturing Execution Systems, CMMS3, SAP).
  • Understands how data is constructed within the systems and is able to source the information as well as input data for downstream use.
  • Willingness to positively challenge to influence change and improve ways of working.
  • Build rapport, understanding and trust with all key stakeholders through ongoing dialogue and delivering on commitments.
