Job overview:

Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a consultant in general adult psychiatry to provide clinical leadership to the North Kerrier Community Mental Health Team.

This community post has become available at an exciting time for Mental Health services in Cornwall as we embark on a journey of transformation to develop services for the future.

The developmental aspect of the post will include a greater emphasis on primary care interface working as part of a new 'core model' of mental health care, in addition to the typical CMHT psychiatric work.

This offers the post-holder a stimulating opportunity to influence service development alongside their clinical responsibilities.

We are seeking individuals who are open to new ways of working, interested in developing services for the future, or who may be looking to consider research or teaching in addition to a clinical role.

We are open to discussing relocation requirements with suitably qualified individuals.

Main duties of the job:

The post-holder will cover surgeries in the conurbation of Camborne and Redruth and surrounding satellite villages. Outpatient clinics are primarily held in The Basset Unit on the Longreach Hospital site.

The consultant contributes to clinical leadership within the team but is only medically responsible for individuals that he/she has contact with but is not expected to care co-ordinate.

The post is supported by a 1.0 WTE Core Psychiatric Trainee who works between the team consultants. Trainees are primarily community-based but will also have on-call duty commitments to the inpatient services. The consultant will share Clinical Supervisor duties for the trainee

Working for our organisation:

We're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

We are a people organisation and people matter to us.

As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.

Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work
