Plumber/maintenance Operative - Cobham, United Kingdom - ACS International Schools
Description
We are seeking a skilled plumbing specialist maintenance associate to join our team.The purpose of this role is to provide a flexible, planned and responsive maintenance service to meet the needs of the school, ensuring that the school buildings are maintained to a high standard.
The post holder is expected to undertake a wide range of plumbing and maintenance tasks dependent upon the needs of the school and as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Duties:
- Carry out plumbing maintenance and installation tasks across the campus including but not limited to: water services, heating equipment, water services and supplies, TMVs, basins toilets and kitchens
- Ensure adherence to L8 regulations when undertaking works and ensure accurate record keeping
- Undertake regular plant room inspections
- Carry out multiskilled maintenance repairs as required
- Work on company iPad to open and close works orders on the CAFM system (full training will be given)
- Ensure that materials required to carry out maintenance works are procured via the Maintenance Manager in a timely manner
- Ensure that all personal protective equipment and tools are maintained in good working order
- Ensure that all works carried out are of a high standard and costeffective
- Proactively identify and repair/log defects observed whilst about the site
- Adhere to ACS Health and Safety policies and risk assessments
- Provide assistance outside of work hours in case of emergencies or other requirement. Time in lieu or overtime will be provided in such instances
- Manage and provide assistance to external contractors as required
- Effectively communicate with all internal and external customers.
These are the general duties of the post, however, the post holder will be expected to assist in other duties within the department as necessary, in particular, at times of heavy workload, sickness and staff absences commensurate with the post holder's level of responsibility.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
- Trade qualifications
- NVQ2 Plumbing minimum/equivalent with 5 year minimum experience. Ideally NVQ L3 Diploma in Plumbing is preferred
- Competently skilled with multitrade experience
- IT literate
- Strong listening and collaboration skills
- The ability to work as part of a team or individually
- A positive approach to work in busy periods
- Knowledge of COSHH, Manual Handling and general Health and Safety legislation
- A fully enhanced DBS check will be conducted, this is an essential requirement
- Full UK driving licence.

Working hours:
Mon - Fri, 8am - 4pm (35 hours per week), non term time/52 weeks per year
