About the project:

A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet Improvement schemeThe purpose of the Scheme is to address the problems of congestion, poor journey time reliability and poor resilience against incidents between the Black Cat and Caxton Gibbet roundabouts.

The Scheme seeks to address these problems through the construction of a new 10 mile dual 2-lane carriageway from west of the A421 / A1 Black Cat roundabout through to east of the A428/A1198 Caxton Gibbet roundabout.


About the role
To work with the project planning team to develop, maintain and update the project programme.

Working closely with the site team- and our suppliers, clearly communicating sections of the programme in a way that suits the user, managing the short-term programming and- imputing progress into the master programme.


You will:

  • Programmes are clearly communicated to all users in a way that suits them and that highlights the constraints and resources that
- they have to work with.

  • Provide the link between the planning and delivery teams initiating the shortterm programme and assisting the delivery team with its
- development, providing a challenge about quality and results where necessary.

  • Leads the 4weekly collaborative planning sessions.
  • Identify areas of developing programme risk with the planning and project team.
  • Review supplier's programmes, ensuring that they align with the required planning standards and project requirements / dates.
  • Provides assistance and guidance to suppliers as necessary.

Key Skills and Experience


Construction experience and technical understanding of engineering principles, construction techniques and best practices.- Understanding of various forms of construction documents, contracts and specifications.

- Experience of various methods of planning, programming, and progress monitoring working for a construction contractor- Understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements- Relevant CSCS CardPreferred:

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Construction/ Engineering
