Claims Assistant

  • Working Directly with Claims Handlers, and the Claims Team Leader you will be the first point of contact when it comes to processing Claims and instructing Solicitors on new litigation. The Claims Assistant will deal with incoming post, administering the paperless systems and updating files with claim relevant documents._
  • Based within_ our I_pswich Office, This position is perfect for someone seeking their first role within the working world, and wishing to develop a career within Insurance claims._

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Process standard claims, such as uninsured loss recovery, within agreed parameters
  • Process payments and recoveries
  • Issue standard letters
  • Diary management
  • Ensure that Claims are coded accurately on Gallagher Bassett systems
  • Update spreadsheets and run reports as and when required
  • Instruct Solicitors on new litigation and other Experts where required
  • Input claim notes
  • Close files once payments are raised, or claim has been settled
  • Comply with all Gallagher Bassett office procedures.
  • Actively participate in the Gallagher Bassett training programme.

  • Attention to detail
  • The ability to work well individually without continual supervision and to work well as part of a team
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • IT skills
  • Customer Service or Administration experience preferred
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate in a complete, concise and logical manner
  • Satisfaction of requirements specified in the Job Description
