Billington Foods supply the UK's Foodservice, Retail & B2B markets.

Our product expertise covers chilled and frozen sauces and soups, frozen pies & desserts; and we are predominantly a bespoke manufacturer.

We are also the home of Glorious Soups, available in supermarkets across the UK. Part of the Billington Group our factories are based in Scunthorpe and Wellingborough.

The full product life cycle takes place at the Scunthorpe site from prepping the ingredients, cooking the product, packing it securely before finally being boxed up ready for dispatch from our warehouse.

Each new joiner will progress through a 12 week training plan which will include Health & Safety and Food Safety Training.

About the role:

As an Shift Supervisor you will be responsible for leading, motivating and developing the team to achieve the plan through the best use of material, labour and machinery resources, to optimise yield and to reduce waste within the area, driving a right first-time culture.

To promote a friendly and effective working environment, having particular regard to reinforcing the organisation's vision based on team, food and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to:_
Conduct all necessary startup and shut down procedures, including safety checks whilst also ensuring efficient break controls are implemented
Work with the relevant departments to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime, with quick turnaround.
Take ownership of the area, machinery, processes, products and shift members to enable KPI's to be achieved.
Ensure procedural compliance is adhered to at all time relating to the process relevant to the area, maintaining set quality standards are met, whilst working with the Technical and Process Department.
Involvement with shift handover as communication is critical for the shifts production.
Involvement each day with the H&S management, including hazard reporting/ accident and near miss reporting / investigations.
Training of staff Assist in the development and training to develop a multiskilled workforce.
Performance management to support the manager with identifying under performers and manage an improvement plan from a capability view.
Take ownership for the department and communicating upwards any problems with plant / people / quality
Ensure all Operatives follow hygiene and cleanliness procedures at all times, to include correct usage of the relevant PPE for the area.

Skills Required:

A minimum of 2 years chilled food manufacture experience.
Hands on experience of managing and supervising a busy warehouse process and workforce.
A hardworking and dedicated professional who 'gets the job done'
Proven experience of the efficient and effective running of FMCG production.
Proficient computer skills, with ERP system experience
