The Bartender will be responsible for preparing, serving and selling drinks and other products at the Club bars, for maintaining a clean and organised work environment and for assisting at club functions.
Applicants must have previous experience of bar/ club work. Working hours will are mainly weekends and will involve working until at least 1 am.
The Bar tender position will report to the Bar Supervisor who will be supported by the Club Secretary, who is the nominated Premises Licence Holder of the Club.
Main Duties
- Mixing beverages using an extensive range of ingredients including liquor, bitters, soda, water, sugar, and fruits.
- Taking beverage orders from customers (or waiting staff) and serving drinks as requested, paying attention to detail.
- Satisfying patron requests in a timely manner.
- Assessing customer preferences and making drink recommendations.
- Providing a positive and friendly guest experience by interacting with patrons.
- Collecting money for drinks served and providing change as needed or accepting payment by card.
- Checking identification to verify legal age requirements for all customers.
- Operating the till and balancing cash receipts as required.
- Keeping a wellstocked bar with an adequate supply of spirits, beer, wine, mixers, ice, straws, glassware, and other accessories
- Cleaning the bar, tables, chairs, and work area to maintain a sanitary environment
- Organising the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory
- Slicing, pitting, and preparing fruit garnishes for drinks
- Creating unique drinks
- Complying with all food and beverage regulations
- Limiting customer problems by restricting alcohol intake and attempting to curtail inappropriate behaviour
- Providing support at club and private functions held at the premises including assisting with setting up and clearing up before and after functions.
- Checking the cleanliness of club toilets during shift times and replenishing toilet rolls, paper towels and soaps as necessary.
- Help to maintain a compliant bar environment that meets all health and safety requirements.
- Help to maintain the security of the premises, staff and stock by following appropriate security procedures including helping with locking up at the end of each day.
- Ensuring that the bar environment (and the external beer garden) including lighting and TV operation is appropriate to members' needs and offers a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
- Respond promptly to matters raised by members or their guests. Ensure that all issues are dealt with and that they are recorded for review by the committee.
