We are looking for a talented Senior Bioinformatician/ Bioinformatician to join the Papatheodorou Group at the Earlham Institute based in Norwich.
The role:
You will be driving the development of tools and pipelines for the data management, annotation and processing of data arising from several spatial transcriptomics platforms, in particular 10x Chromium and VizGen.
The primary responsibilities will be developing and implementing metadata standards for spatial transcriptomics data, employing existing and further developing workflows for standardised spatial transcriptomics analyses.
You will be working with other bioinformaticians at EI, to extend our computational tools for brokering such data to public archives.
As part of this role, you will:
- Design and implement data and metadata standards for spatial transcriptomics technologies
- Continue development and extend existing pipelines for the processing of spatial transcriptomics data
- Contribute to the development of data brokering tools for spatial transcriptomics by extending the COPO platform
- Utilise modern workflow management and containerisation systems to automate complex workflows.
- Keep up to date with modern software engineering best practices, data analysis best practices and new technologies.
- Mentor junior bioinformaticians, interns and visitors.
- Collaborate with EI faculty groups and UK and international partners on largescale projects.
