Our friendly team are seeking to appoint a Medical secretary on a permanent, full time basis. This role is based at our Southend Hospital site.


You will be responsible for the provision of an effective administrative and secretarial service to the Neurology Consultants and their clinical team including Clinical Nurse Specialists.

Provide an efficient and effective administrative and secretarial service for the Neurology Consultants and their clinical team

Promote good customer relations and public image of the department

Ensure good communication across the multidisciplinary team, using a wide variety of resources

Give guidance and support to new and temporary secretaries when required, as appropriate, and to provide cover for absent colleagues within the wider secretarial team

Versatility and adaptability to meet to the demands of the medical and operational teams

Type clinic lists, reports, statements, and general correspondence

Manage Consultant clinics using the available trust systems, eg Careflow and CED

Attend departmental meetings to take, type and distribute minutes

Opening post and taking appropriate

Answer and action telephone calls and clear received voice mails daily
