Lionvest Trading are a leading independent worldwide importer of floor coverings and panels that are stored and then distributed throughout the UK.

We are seeking a Senior Accountants Assistant to join our team in a lively busy open plan office


Job Purpose


To provide support for the existing Financial Controller and overseeing other staff to ensure the Company's financial transactions are recorded accurately.

This is a very varied and interesting role for the right applicant and in time would possibly lead to the Financial Controllers role.


Skills Ideally Required To Start

  • Strong reconciliation skills required to reconcile Sterlimg / USD accounts and our Invoice Finance Line.
  • Have a good understanding of Purchase and Sales Ledgers
  • Pay over VAT to HMRC to clear imported goods
  • Help Reconciling supplier statements.
  • Overseeing Monthly Supplier Pay Runs
  • Expenditure monitoring on the purchase ledger and staff credit card
  • Good Management Skills helping staff with the input side of the SL and PL
  • Experienced in Excel and Word

Skills We Can Teach

  • The use of Sage 200
  • Processing Import clearances from overseas inputted into a cloud program
  • Various price costings and margins of imported products
  • Shipping and logistics
  • Credit Checking and setting up limits for individual clients
  • Dealing with C79 Vat forms and Customs Declaration Service
  • Monthly Management accounts preparation
  • Dealing with Forex gains / losses
  • Setting up Suppliers Letters Of Credit
  • 12 Month Cashflow preparation

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:


  • Would suit maybe AAT level 4 or someone that does not want to continue studies
  • Have a knowledge of month end accounting procedures
  • Has an understanding of how a Profit / Loss and Balance Sheet works

Working Days/Hours:


  • Monday to Thursday 8:00am to Thursday 4:00pM/Friday 8.00am to 3:30pm
  • 34 hour working week
