Roles & Responsibilities:
Project Planner


  • The scope of the work package is to:
  • Guiding Project Core Teams in the integrated planning of activities using standard templates such as Work Breakdown Structure and Product Breakdown Structure
  • Producing and updating critical path schedules in Primavera P6, including leading the integration and harmonization of subschedules from all parties involved in the project.
  • Monitoring of schedule critical path and float to identify risks & opportunities and assisting in the development of recovery plans where necessary.
  • Demand planning and monitoring of actual & forecast hours in the Primavera P6 schedule.
  • Regularly updating the Project Controller with deviations to approved budget.
  • Monitoring of schedule progress against approved baselines and KPI reporting of schedule and demand planning status.

Note:

  • It is also expected that the individuals will provide necessary support to other Product development Schedulers (PdS) and Resource planners as required.
  • It is expected that the Resource planner will maintain a complete, accurate and up to date Resource Data and would require effective communication with key stakeholders.

This will involve:

  • Informing all relevant parties when changes are made to resource data that has an impact elsewhere.
  • Understanding P6 view of roles and how this links with the organizational (HR) view of roles.
  • Understanding the purpose of activity and resource codes and why they must be maintained.
  • Understanding the local organizational hierarchy and cost center structure.
  • Good understanding of the resource planning process.
  • Demonstrating ability to organize, conduct and report meetings related to resource planning.
  • Demonstrating ability to obtain information for resource planning using assertive but nonconfrontational methods.
  • Demonstrating ability to propose new/alternative methods to reach assigned goals.
