We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Student Placement Officer to join our busy team in Belfast.
As a Student Placement Officer, you will assist with maximising the progression of INTO Queen's students to full academic programmes within Queen's University.
You will work closely with the Queen's University Progression Manager to support students and work closely with Queen's University Faculties, Academic Schools and Queen's University administration support functions (International Admissions, International Student Support).
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain accurate and up to date university placement and progression records which will be used to contribute to the overall picture of the service level and success of placement and progression to higher education achieved by INTO students.
- Counsel students and offer advice and support to potential applicants on entry requirements, the admissions process, visa requirements and progression opportunities with an absolute commitment to meeting strict response deadlines.
- Optimise student conversion rates from enquiries through to enrolment by maintaining good relationship management with key stakeholders including students, agents, parent, sponsors and regional office staff.
About You:
You will have a university degree or equivalent.
This is a customer-focused role, you will have the ability to deliver high levels of customer service and strong customer-service focus.
You will have the passion to work with and support international students and young adults coming from different backgrounds.
You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to build and manage relationships with peers, senior managers, academic stakeholders.
INTO Queens University Belfast
The INTO Queen's Centre, located within walking distance the campus, provides an innovative learning environment for international students studying on the pre-university academic programs or English language courses.
Students are offered university-style teaching, including lectures, seminars and tutorials, and a supported e-learning environment dedicated to the welfare of students.
There were over 30 nationalities at the INTO centre in the academic year.
In the academic year, 95% of INTO Queen's students passed their Pathway program, 93% of which were eligible to progress to Queen's University Belfast.
