What's the role about?
We have a number of exciting opportunities for you to join us as a Merchandise Planner, Food and Grocery Merchandising.
We've created a Partnership Plan which is designed to build a growing and sustainable Partnership in a very dynamic set of markets, some existing and some new.
For Merchandising Operations it is a critically important time to invest in the future of the Partnership's Food and Grocery business, delivering significant customer benefits through improved availability, financial benefits through reduced wastage and reduced stockholding, operational benefits through increased efficiency, and Partner benefits through improved stock management processes.
As part of the Merchandising Operations team you will be focused on creating, optimising and delivering plans for supplier ordering and stock replenishment which result in the right amount of stock, in the right place, at the right time, building on the demand forecasts.
Planning activity is an integral part of the work of each Category Proposition Group, in order to deliver the trade plan, with direct impact on the delivery of key stock KPIs (availability, explained wastage, stock holding).
Please note we have a number of positions available, both Permanent and temporary. Temporary positions are until February 2024.
What will you be doing?
- Optimising stock availability for all Food & Grocery customers to achieve sales category targets, whilst actively controlling the costs of wastage and working capital.
- Using insight from the Category Proposition Group and analysis of historical performance, plan all items for promotions, deals and events in order to achieve targets.
- Providing data and experiencedbased insight to enable evidence based decision making in the Category Proposition Group e.g. influencing decisions related to space and types of promotion.
- Proactively working with Trading and Supply Chain to monitor and manage supplier performance with accountability for shortages, late deliveries, code life and stock presentation. Analyse data and performance to focus activity where improvement adds most value
- Providing feedback for the Forecasting Analysts to ensure forecasts used include insights from the Category Proposition Group
