We are currently looking for an eagle-eyed deal spotter and chief shopper to come and work with us in our Head of Supply Chain role.
The Person
As with everything we do - different definitely tastes better Same goes for the person we are looking for in the Head of Supply Chain role.
You'll ideally be an experienced negotiator within the ingredients, packaging and consumables sector with a proven background managing co-packing and co-manufacturing partners.
You will have experience delivering strategic focus on strengthening our relationship with our suppliers, sourcing the best and most cost-effective ingredients, packaging and consumable helping to improve the P&L across the business.
Although you will work closely with all department especially procurement, this role is stand-alone so you will need to be a strong problem solver, decision maker, influencer and starter-finisher.
The Role Brief
As Head of Supply Chain, you will be responsible for:
What you will contribute
- Develop & execute procurement strategies by tracking futures, assessing market dynamics and evaluating supplier options
- Liaise with Operations and NPD\Technical on contract management, material\ingredient specification and compliance with Food standards
- Develop and implement robust analysis and reporting to identify inflation\deflation variables for forecasting & standards and develop baselines & identify savings targets
- Put in place a sustainable procurement policy (i.e ensure we know where our ingredients come from and that they are produced in an ethical & sustainable way)
- Develop Procure to Pay process for indirect spend (overheads) with Finance & IT support that improves controls and generates value
- Provide strong leadership and direction to the Procurement manager and keep them engaged, focused and delivering on their talent
- Support packaging initiatives with Commercial & Supply teams by driving sustainability agenda with suppliers
What you will bring
- An experienced Procurement Manager/Supply Chain professional who has worked within the Food or FMCG industry
- Negotiation & project management experience. Ideally some experience of working with UK retailers
- Experience of managing a range of suppliers of varying sizes.
- Membership and CIPS accreditation preferred.
- Experience of driving improvements in service, cost and performance across a complex supplier base.
- Commercially focused with strong evidence of negotiating skills.
- Experience of utilising SAP and MRP systems to drive visibility and improved service.
- Business partner skills, result oriented and hands on.
- Selfmotivated and adaptable to the demands of a fastchanging high growth business
- Strong people management and interpersonal and communication skills for all levels
