We are delighted to working alongside our very highly thought of and popular garden centre / horticultural based client as they seek to recruit a permanent full time Assistant Plant Area Manager to join their friendly and busy team.
The role:
You will be responsible for:
Assisting the Plant Area Manager with day-to-day management of the plant area and deputising in their absence.
Plant Area Management:
- Assisting the plant area manager with plant buying, organisation of colleagues, rotas & breaks, goods in and quality control checks.
Customer Service:
- Ensuring that you have a good knowledge of all plants available and can advise customers correctly.
- Maintaining a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers at all times.
- Responding promptly to customer inquiries.
- Communicating with customers through various channels.
- Acknowledging and resolving minor customer complaints. Referring unresolved complaints to line manager.
- Having knowledge of horticultural products so that you can give advice and guidance.
- Keeping your area of work clean and tidy.
- Processing customer orders.
- Helping to carry and load heavy items to customers cars.
- Communicating and coordinating with colleagues as necessary.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support at all times.
Merchandising and Plant Care:
- High standards of plant care and merchandising presentation.
- Ensuring that all plants in your care are always watered correctly and no plants are left over or under watered according to their needs.
- Ensuring you carry out a daily check for pests and pathogens and take immediate action.
- Ensuring no plants are on left on display with pests or pathogens at any time.
- Accurate pricing and labelling.
- Maintenance and cleaning of plant area and displays
Other:
- To support with duties in other departments as required.
- Out of hours stocktaking, late night shopping, Christmas shopping duties as required.
- Ensuring that you carry out your duties in compliance with safety, legislative and company administrative regulations.
