Applications are invited for a dedicated and motivated individual to the role of Acquisitions and E-resources Coordinator.


Reporting to the Head of Acquisitions and Content Delivery, you will be part of a customer-focussed Acquisitions and Content Delivery Team that seeks to provide information resources to university staff and students efficiently and cost-effectively.

Specifically, the successful applicant will coordinate the library's book acquisitions activities and reading list processing, including:


  • Ensuring that effective and efficient book acquisition workflows are implemented and maintained
  • Keeping accurate records of print and digital book acquisitions and holdings
  • Delivering continuity of supply and discoverability of digital and print book content to library users
  • Supporting the acquisition of reading list content by managing the automatic order generation process
  • Managing the daytoday running of the reading list system (Talis Aspire) and reading list checking process
  • Participating in collection management activities and projects, especially pertaining to print and digital books
  • Line managing and supervising Information Assistants and Reading List Assistants in the Acquisitions and Content Delivery Team.
  • Provide cover for journals and databases acquisitions, digital copies, and eresource management as required from time to time


You will have experience of working in an acquisitions role in a library or information service and experience of line-management or staff supervision.

You will have excellent administrative skills, ensuring accurate record-keeping and a high-level of numeracy. You will be capable of collating and analysing complex information and presenting it effectively to aid decision making.


A confident user of IT, you will be able to use library systems to ensure that library users can seamlessly discover and access digital content.

With excellent communications skills, you can make a positive contribution to a team, and have a positive commitment to excellent customer service.

You can manage your workload to meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities, trends and developments.

This is a full-time, permanent post of 35 hours a week, to be worked Monday-Friday.
