Full time, permanent (Based in Liverpool)_


We are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join MSC UK to provide health and safety advice, promote a healthy and safe culture and ensure H&S compliance across MSC UK business areas.

This is a hybrid role with expectation that a high percentage of timewill be spent at MSC customer and supplier sites predominantly covering the North of the UK and in particular the Liverpool depots.

Travel will be a substantial part of this role.


Core responsibilities:


  • Be the focal point at the allocated MSC UK locations for all H&S Law matters and provide advice, guidance, training and coaching to employees at all levels to ensure compliance
  • Obtain and analyse data to inform current and future plans
  • Lead the implementation of continuous improvement and safety initiatives
  • Provide proactive health and safety support and guidance to the operational management team
  • Ensure timely completion of all root cause analysis investigations
  • Audit and inspection of contractors to maintain our contractor compliance matrix
  • Customer site visits to secure safety investigation completion
  • Ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into accessible and meaningful information
  • Support and assist our depots and satellite offices with risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Analyse safety data and implement improvement measures to minimize risks
  • Subject matter expertise to support employee forums

Qualifications, skills and experience required:


  • Qualified to a Level 3 NEBOSH General Certification or equivalent and a member of IOSH or IIRSM
  • A good depth of health and safety knowledge across a range of topics in an operational environment
  • Pragmatic approach to daytoday health and safety challenges
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions based on the information available
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the business
  • A high level of Microsoft Office knowledge and general IT skills
  • Stakeholder management
