• To diligently learn and achieve high standards in practical workbased activities
• To ensure that the quality of work meets the highest standards at all times
• Undertake all work efficiently and cost effectively, minimising nonproductive time wherever possible and reporting any difficulties encountered to Mentor/Supervisor
• Ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations
• Supporting the main contractor and skilled trades directly
• Risk assess and plan each job on site
• Maintain tools, plant and equipment in a clean and workable condition
• Maintain accurate records of works undertaken including job tickets and timesheets and other required paperwork
• Carry out regular preventative maintenance to ensure the safety and integrity of listed/contemporary buildings
• Perform emergency repairs as required
• Identify potential risks and defects within listed, historic and contemporary buildings to ensure safety
• Assist with all property maintenance tasks including painting, plastering, repointing, roofing repairs, carpentry, masonry etc. utilizing traditional and modern methods as appropriate
• Follow strict health & safety guidelines when working on site
• Regular cleaning and tidying of work zones
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Great communication skills
• Positive attitude
• In order to deliver services effectively, a degree of flexibility is needed and the post holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above. Such duties, however, should not normally exceed those expected of an employee at that grade.

You will work towards a Property Maintenance Level 2 apprenticeship standard, which includes:

• Level 1 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
• End-Point Assessment (EPA)
• On site masterclasses

sessions with Tutor every 4-6 weeks
