We have an exciting opportunity for a
Construction Co-ordinator to join our expanding team, supporting our clients on a range of projects in the pharmaceutical construction sector.


JOB DESCRIPTION & MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Role:


The Construction Co-ordinator is responsible for putting individuals to work safely and to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the planned safe working practices.

The Construction Co-ordinator is also responsible for integrating and monitoring the EHS programme on the site, and shall:

- plan each task with EHS as the priority
- conduct pre-job risk assessments of all work activities
- assign workers to tasks for which they are trained and qualified
- identify the work area and hazards to the workers
- lead the daily prestart workforce safety briefings
- ensure risk assessments and method statements are in place and in use
- participate in safety meetings and lead daily safety walks of the site
- participate and or lead toolbox talks and safety meetings
- review safe methods of working ahead of work starting
- inspect and conduct safety audits of tasks and safe systems / processes
- intervene and correct any unsafe conditions
- to ensure good housekeeping and organised tidiness at all times
- assist in incident investigations


Qualifications

Essential:


  • SMSTS or SSSTS qualified
  • NVQ level 5 in Construction Work Management or equivalent
  • Qualified First Aider
  • CSCS Card holder (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven track record in site supervision
  • Competent in computer skills (MS office)
  • UK Driving license
  • Permit to Work

Desirable:


  • Member of the CIOB
  • 3 years experience in MEP engineering

Experience

Essential:

-
Must be comfortable with client facing meetings
-
Must be happy and capable of holding conversations with all levels of stakeholders
-
Must be happy with working under strict conditions including a permit to work system
-
Must have in-depth knowledge of all aspects of construction, and the relevant legislative requirements e.g., Health and Safety
-
Must have experience of working in the pharmaceutical / process construction industry
-
Must have experience of working on multiple projects or work scopes at any given time


Desirable:


  • Experience of working in pharmaceutical construction
  • Experience of working within the biotech/process industries

Salary:
£40,000 - £45,000 (9 hour days)


Salary:
£40,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

  • Monday to Friday

COVID precautions are in place on site, as well as the office.

  • Darlington: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Similar Level: 3 years (required)

  • Oil & Gas working: 1 year (required)
Pharma Construction: 1 year (required)
