    Vulcain Engineering Group provides engineering consultancy services across multiple industry sectors on a global scale, with operations in 40 countries and employing over 3000 staff worldwide. Our UK business is well-positioned within the UK Nuclear industry.

    We are seeking motivated and suitably qualified Field Engineers to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Quality Surveillance: Check that works are constructed in accordance with the contract and notify the Construction Superintendent of non-conformance request requirements.
    2. Non-Conformance Reporting: Submit details of any non-conformance request requirements to assist in the issuing of non-conformance reports.
    3. Site Communication: Proactively communicate with other site teams, maintain good communication links and ensure surveillance is timely reported.
    4. KPI Contribution: Contribute surveillance information to support KPI indicators.
    5. Quality Enhancement: Endeavour to identify potential Quality issues before they arise to enable mitigating actions.
    6. Trouble-Shooting: Support team instructions to take temporary measures to mitigate and keep works safe and within Quality standards.
    7. Team Enhancement: Enhance the team with a good perspective of current and future site activities.
    8. Task Development: Ensure tasks are developed to quality in accordance with the company's requirement for health, safety and environment.
    9. Construction Knowledge: Develop and maintain an understanding of construction drawings, construction activities, Quality Control Plans and Quality Inspection Records.

    Requirements

    1. Mechanical Engineering Knowledge: Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
    2. Welding Expertise: Proficiency in welding processes, metallurgy, and NDT.
    3. Industry Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to welding and mechanical activities.
    4. Project Experience: Experience in weld inspection on large construction projects.
    5. Civil/Mechanical Engineering Qualification: A minimum of HND in a Civil / Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience.
    6. Welding Inspector Qualification: A welding inspector qualification (e.g. CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent) as well as a basic appreciation of NDT.
    7. Quality Management: Good working knowledge of Quality Management practices, methods and processes.
