DK Recruitment are looking for a Mechanical/Plant Fitter to join their Clients Plymouth based team on a Permanent basis.

Reporting to the Operations manager and working as the Mechanical Fitter you will be responsible for planned and unplanned maintenance and repairs to the plant and equipment.

You will be working on a busy site and will not be required no travel.

Main Role Responsibilities

Provide a timely response to plant breakdowns.
Monitor any faults, breakdowns and damage reports
Be skilled in welding, cutting and fabricating techniques.
Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance tasks
Completing and adhering to all safetyrelated documentation.

Skills and Experience Required

Hold or working towards HNC / HND Engineering or equivalent.
Able to work well as part of a team.
Full UK driving licence.
Experience of undertaking a comprehensive range of mechanical works in maintenance, Inspection, service and repair works to plant and equipment and to complete various service records.
Experience of attending vehicle breakdowns and diagnose vehicle defects to determine serviceability.

As well as the above duties you may be asked to support apprentices and fitters mates by allocating duties, motivating and giving on the job training.

In addition to the requirements you will ideally be qualified in or willing to work towards operating: forklift trucks, front end loaders (Loading shovel) and other port related plant.
