We are currently recruiting for a forward-thinking Production Manager join our client leading UK manufacturing operation of soft furnishings located in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

The Production Manager will be responsible for all departmental manufacturing activities and to lead, motivate and develop their production teams.

Drive continuous improvement and deliver operational KPI's for Quality, Cost, Delivery and People. Ensure andmaintain a safe working environment and adherence to all Environment, Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities will include

Provide the leadership and organisation required to meet all manufacturing requirements and develop the capability to meet future needs.
Operate high standards of safety within the manufacturing area ensuring compliance with all environmental, health and safety legislation.

Maximise staff contribution

Develop a multi skilled workforce with planned training and development. Develop individuals to their full potential by providing effective coaching/mentoring and appraisal throughout the department.
Ensure the department meets agreed KPI's.
Manage within budgets and forecasts to the dates required and control costs within agreed limits?
Drive and implement continuous improvement activities within the department.
Ensure the department's equipment and facilities are maintained and upgraded to enable future growth.

Skills/Experience required

An experienced leader in an operational role.
Proven experience of leading teams within manufacturing.
Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing management.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and best practice
A desire to drive Continuous Improvement
A working knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing management techniques.
A thorough experience of people/operational management in a manufacturing environment.
A proven leader who can lead and motivate their direct reports.
