The role:

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, we now have an exciting opportunity for a technically minded and passionate Quality Inspector to join our team and provide a crucial role in delivering excellent quality products to our customers.

As our Quality Inspector, you will work to ensure stringent quality control measures are followed and recorded when inspecting incoming products against engineering drawings ensuring that all dimensional, material and quality standards are met.

You will assist in and updating suppliers on corrective actions to keep rejection rates to a minimum.

  • Carrying out detailed goods inwards, work in progress and finished build inspections to ensure conformity.
  • Performing routine visual and dimensional inspections and checking for surface defects, cleaning etc. in accordance with the Company's drawings and procedures.
  • Using standard handheld measuring equipment, surface plate equipment, CMM, comparator, fixed gauging, thread gauges etc. to measure to a high level of accuracy and precision.
  • Ensuring any nonconformance of products, processes and project activities are identified, reported and resolved to prevent further issues.
  • Maintain workshop department inspection equipment.
  • Support facility maintenance and participate in internal assessments and audits.
  • Compiling and completing Certificate of Conformity (CofC), Fair Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and customer quality assurance documentation and implementing corrective actions.
  • Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
  • Supporting with quality related investigations upon request.

What we are looking for from you:

Education Requirements:

  • Relevant Engineering qualifications or served apprenticeship.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in a quality Inspection role.
  • Understanding of quality assurance and ISO900
  • Working knowledge of CMM measuring techniques (Aberlink programming).
  • Working knowledge of surface measurement and geometric tolerancing.
  • Competent use of PC and essential software.
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • A professional attitude towards work and a willingness to be flexible.
  • An excellent understanding (and experience) of practical engineering in a busy workshop environment.
  • Competence in working to high quality standards.
  • Training in company systems and specialised inspection equipment / process will be provided.

Salary:
£28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
