Description
We are recruiting for an Assistant Financial Accountant for a well-established Housing Association in Liverpool. Paying up to £30.5k plus 25 days holiday (increasing with service) and agile working.You will need to be commutable to Liverpool as the roleis 2/3 days office-based and the rest of the week is WFH.
THE JOB
The overall purpose of the Assistant Financial Accountant is to support the Group Financial Accountant in the development of an efficient and effective accountancy function for the Group.
You will support the coordination of balance sheet reconciliations, the delivery of service improvement for finance services and the implementation and maintenance of systems.
Key responsibilities:
- To support the production of group and subsidiary financial statements and to assist in providing supporting schedules required for internal and external audit
- To support the implementation and review of financial accounting systems for providing financial reporting to all departments as appropriate and within agreed time scales
- Assisting with the completion and monitoring of balance sheet reconciliations for debtors, creditors, bad debts and liaising with the wider Finance team to ensure timely completion of reconciliations
- Administration and Monitoring of credit card statements for the Group
- Assist in the implementation of appropriate financial controls, policies and procedures for the Group
- To assist the Group Financial Accountant in compiling information required for the production and submission of information for the regulator of social housing and other statutory returns
- To assist in the provision of comprehensive sound financial information and advice to internal and external stakeholders
- To support the business in understanding financial risk through the production of regular and meaningful performance management reports by collating and preparing relevant data and preparing ad hoc financial and performance reports as required
- To contribute to the maintenance and development of sound financial systems and processes in order to protect the Group and its' resources and to ensure an optimized financial control environment
THE PERSON
You will be experienced in Accounts, with an appropriate accountancy qualification eg. part qualified CIMA/ACCA or AAT or equivalent. You will have evidence of completing balance sheet reconciliations and show a commitment to financial compliance management.
You will have a good working knowledge of Excel and the ability to engage with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
