Are you a qualified accountant/finalist level accountant who would like to work for a fast-paced and diverse business in the heart of Essex?


With a large amount of subsidiary company accounts to oversee, our client is looking for broad experience and lots of initiative; someone who is proactive and organised.


Your role will have responsibility for establishing and running the day-to-day finance function for your specific companies as they put their growth plans into effect.

Working within a vibrant and supportive team, your duties will include:

  • Ownership of all day-to-day finance tasks, working with the Executive Team and Team Leaders to ensure clarity
  • Financial processing; processing payable invoices, credit card receipts, raising purchase orders for costs
  • Completion of monthly returns such as VAT and CIS
  • Leading the monthend process; this will include balance sheet reconciliations and reviews
  • Monthly revenue and cost reporting; this will include the preparation of monthly management reports for budget holders and reporting to key stakeholders
  • Forecasting and budgeting
  • Monthly variance analysis; comparing actuals versus forecast & budget for review by the Finance Director
  • Monitoring and analysing overhead sped
  • Supporting the Finance Director as Finance Business Partner, especially during key forecasting and budgeting periods
  • Working closely with the Finance Director to develop and document business processes and accounting policies
  • Supporting your Finance Assistants with suitable training where appropriate and play an active role in their development
  • Championing the Finance Team within the business

The Person:

  • Qualified Accountant or at Final Stages
  • SME experience
  • Intermediate/advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups)
  • Strong team player with excellent organisational skills
  • Commercial acumen
