Chelsom is a third-generation family business based in Blackpool, UK.

This award-winning company is a market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of decorative lighting to the global contract industry.

Clients include some of the most prestigious hotel and cruise ship operators in the world and Chelsom's reputation stands strong across multiple countries and markets.


A brand new and exciting role has been created to offer support to two Directors and one Manager within the business.

Both the Sales and Marine Director are based remotely, working from home in the South of England whilst the Head of Marketing, PR and Communications is based at head office in Blackpool.

This role will report into all three people and will offer administrative and strategic support to all three key areas within this growing business.


Sales:

Assist the Sales and Marine Directors in all aspects of company business.

Personal flexibility is key within this role, particularly with regards to quick changes of priority, direction, and planning.


Marketing:


Provide marketing and administrative support to the Head of Marketing, PR & Communications in helping to ensure that all aspects of the Chelsom brand image are executed effectively across all internal and external marketing touchpoints.

Assisting to oversee management of the company website as well other key communication platforms will form a big part of the role


Maintenance of the company client database will also be a big part of the role in supporting both sales and marketing functions.

Duties - Sales

  • Acting as point of contact between the directors and clients.
  • Arranging, scheduling and coordinating meetings and appointments for both Directors
  • Preparing reports and documentation for meetings and appointments both internally and externally
  • Attending important offsite meetings to take minutes and prepare follow up reports for action.
  • Assist with project requirements/tasks on behalf of the directors.
  • Be the link and coordinate information between the 'ontheroad' Sales Team, Marine Team, Operations Department, Project Department and office based Sales Coordinators.
  • Arrange and produce monthly reports for the sales and marine directors
  • Assist in the planning of quarterly sales meetings.
  • Manage and process all external sales agent & distributor contact details.
  • Attend weekly team meetings and take minutes where needed.
  • Communicate and liaise with colleagues at all levels: Chairman, Managing Director, Sales Office, Sales Consultants, Technical, Production/Factory, Purchasing, Finance, and Marketing, PR and Communications.
  • Assist with ad hoc research projects
  • Any other tasks required to aid the Sales and Marine Director to carry out their duties effectively.
  • Occasional support may be needed within the internal sales office that sits under the Commercial Director
Duties - Marketing

  • Provide tactical support for major campaigns, including, but not limited to the Product Catalogue Launch, Public Sale and Exhibitions.
  • Be responsible for updating the website on an ongoing basis with project, product and company news.
  • Assisting in liaising with Chelsom's communications and digital marketing partner on all aspects of company promotion EG Social Media, advertising, branding campaigns, catalogue work.
  • Tracking and collating media coverage across media partners in the industry.
  • Working with the Sales Team to monitor projects for promotion and ensure we secure project photography for promotional purposes.
  • Assist with pulling together marketing literature and presentations for internal and external use.
  • Competitor tracking and reporting.
  • Assisting with marketing aspects of exhibition planning and implementation.
  • Database management taking in contact validation and CRM support.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Head of Marketing, PR & Communications
  • Assist with ad hoc duties for both Marketing and Sales Office functions where required.
  • Assist with data updates to the computer database of customers and products, including price changes, as necessary.
  • Any other reasonable tasks as required to meet the Company's needs from a marketing perspective.
  • A highly motivated person with excellent organisational, communication and time management skills to support these three senior members of the Chelsom management and Director team.
  • Absolute discretion in all matters.
  • Flexibility to be able to deal with rapidly changing goals, objectives, and scenarios.
  • The ability to cope with multiple reporting lines and the ability to prioritise work across three departments.
  • Should be able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Ideally some experience using CRM systems is preferred.
  • High level of proficiency in use of all MS Office packages including Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint and communication tools such as TEAMS and ZOOM.
  • Resilience and ability to adapt positively to change.
