Are you seeking an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and customer-focussed team with enhancing the student experience as a key motivator? We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Assessment and Student Cases team.

The team has responsibility for providing high level, proactive administrative management of assessment and student case activities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Excellent communication and IT skills and an ability to work to a high standard of accuracy with attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload and that of others within established time scales.

The team currently work a hybrid model working on campus for certain activities or remotely from home depending on business need (the option to work on campus full-time is available).- This position is full-time, fixed term covering maternity leave from 31st July 2023 until 30th April months).


Salary:

£24,715 to £28,929 per annum (Grade 4)

JOB PURPOSE


Provide a comprehensive professional administrative support to the School of Healthcare Sciences, providing support and guidance in the area of Student Assessment and Student Cases.


  • This role is eligible to be offered on a blended working basis, meaning that as well as spending time working on campus you can also choose to spend some time working from another location, e.g. your home.     MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To provide detailed advice and guidance on Assessment and Student Cases processes and procedures to internal and external customers, using judgment and creativity to suggest the most appropriate course of action, and contributing to the solving of more complex issues.
  • Work with others to make recommendations to improve our ways of working.
  • Establish productive relationships with key individuals (University colleagues and external contacts) to help improve the level of service the team provides to its customers.
  • Initiating contact with students, staff, and where appropriate external contacts to request information that may be relevant to a particular case.
  • Undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the administration of assessment and student cases by developing and maintaining effective administrative systems in collaboration with the Senior Officers, including Assessment and Examining Board Procedures, Extenuating Circumstances, Appeals, Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA) requests, Unfair Practice and Fitness to Practise.
  • Acting as Servicing Officer to Exam Boards, Extenuating Circumstances Panels and other School Meetings and panels in relation to Assessment and Student Cases, producing reports, minutes of meetings and following up on actions as necessary.
  • Gather and analyse data to inform decisions, establishing basic trends and patterns in data and creating reports using SIMS online and Business Objects as appropriate to produce the reports for the School, University, and external stakeholders.
  • Instruct and guide other employees across the School and University in relation to policies and procedures in relation to assessment and student cases.
  • Deputising for the Senior Assessment and Student Cases Officer as required.
