Estate Grounds Maintenance - help manage an estate in the countryside where you can enjoy working outdoors and a very varied work role in a family business

We need a reliable and responsible person to help keep the estate in order whilst assisting in our many projects we have on the go when needed.

Royle Farm is a small family estate with industrial warehouses, fish ponds, forestry, wedding venue and wedding accommodation. We are forever looking at improving and adding to the estate and are energetic with our ideas and workflow.


Job description:


We are looking for an adaptable and enthusiastic Maintenance Person / Skilled Labourer to take on maintenance at Royle Estate who is friendly, self-motivated, hardworking, and reliable.

The individual will have responsibility for the upkeep of all the buildings onsite, and are involved in repairs, renovations, and new construction as well as general estate maintenance works.

Gardening will play a large part of the wedding accommodation upkeep. From time to time the work role will vary to help assist with any projects that management see fit.


Duties Include:

Repairs and maintenance of all buildings - gutter cleaning and repair, door repairs, painting, cleaning.

Grounds maintenance - weed control, road repairs, grass cutting, fencing, land improvement.

Estate maintenance - shrub maintenance, pathway grass cutting, trim trees, land improvement and planting.

Gardening - hedge pruning, weed control, laying slabs, pathway maintenance, planting, garden design, lawn cutting and sweeping.

Light building work - basic joinery, plumbing, groundwork.

Experience needed:


  • Working with machinery
  • Hand tools

  • Grounds maintenance


Tasks will require knowledge of power tools such as hedge trimmers, chainsaws, lawn mowers, and most hand tools and might require knowledge of basic building such as joinery, plumbing, painting, and groundworks.


A full driving licence is required, and experience with small diggers, farm vehicles, welding as well as landscaping experience such as slabbing would be an advantage.

Location:

Work would be solely on the Royle Estate, mainly outside around the buildings but also in the forest. A stunning rural location.

£23,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
