Reporting to a deputy manager and registered manager, the post holder will play a huge role in the delivery of a range of in-house residential provisions for children and young people here in Rotherham.

This new residential home will build on practice from their current residential homes, which are judged "Good" and "Outstanding" by Ofsted.

The role comes with a local authority pension and 29 days' annual leave, as well as a 2- to 4-week induction period to ensure the post holder is trained and supported prior to the home opening.

You will be a committed member of the team, seeking to inspire and support some of their most complex young people.

Sometimes this will involve solo provision supported by a deputy and registered manager. Willing to work evenings, weekends and sleep-in shifts as needed. The authority offers sleep-in allowances and overtime to support these additional hours and commitments.

  • Carry out everyday activities to run a home, from mealtimes to report writing
  • Attend meetings, training and supervision to further your knowledge and skills
  • Create a safe and nurturing environment where a Rotherham young person can thrive.

Required skills:

  • Level 3 registered practitioner with experience working within a residential setting.
  • If not Level 3 registered, the post holder will be an experienced caregiver with skills and experience that match the job requirements (This might be experience earned in a residential or similar setting, whether that's statutory or nonstatutory)
  • The local authority is committed to supporting L3 qualification
