Solihull - hybrid (occasional travel to other Serco offices)

Full Time, Permanent

Between £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

Here at Serco, we are seeking a Project Coordinator to successfully manage the change portfolio within SBS, to deliver both financial and non-financial benefits within the budget, ensuring suitable project methodology and governance process is followed and continually improved, focusing on SBS strategic outcomes, whilst keeping our customers at the heart of everything we do.

You will be part of a growing team that supports a variety of projects and programmes across Serco Business Services and will have the opportunity to work across a variety of different Project and PMO tasks, senior stakeholders and business critical activities.

The key purpose of this role is to support the Portfolio Lead in the implementation and operation of PMO, Portfolio and Project Management across the SBS service lines, facilitate the day-to-day operation of the SBS portfolio hub, provide a view of all change activity occurring across service lines, supporting project prioritisation activities and expanding our service offering.

**As part of this you'll:

Report on SBS project and portfolio data including the identification of risks, opportunities, issues, and dependencies

  • Support local and SBS wide project sign on processes
  • Act an administrator for Project Online or relevant EPPM tool and represent the portfolio office at the technical review committee
  • Set up and manage POs/WBS codes for projects across SBS
  • Assist with the implementation of governance standards across the SBS PMO
  • Champion portfolio, PMO and project governance and ensure buy in and adherence across SBS
  • Work closely with the UK&E PPT teams to ensure project governance is standardised and adopted across the business
  • Maintain uptodate list of all projects being delivered across SBS
  • Produce monthly SPR report for the wider SBS Operations and Transformation team
  • Collate and present information to support project prioritisation
  • Develop an appropriate centralised knowledge reporting of risks/issues/lessons learnt being tracked and managed by Programme/Project Managers across the PMO, publishing lessons learned and promoting the sharing of best practices.
  • Provide support for the team, and ensure approved processes and measures are monitored and not breached to contribute towards successful KPI outcomes
  • Deputise on behalf of the Portfolio Lead at meetings as required
  • Support the team with adhoc requests.

What you'll need to do the role**:

  • At least 1 years' experience in a PMO function/Portfolio Analyst/Project Coordinator or comparable role is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and SharePoint
  • Experience of Microsoft Project and Project Online (desirable)
  • Understanding of project and portfolio methodologies including full lifecycle management and project prioritisation
  • Strong communication skills and confidence to present complex information in a concise and effective way to a variety of audiences.
  • Able to facilitate working groups and meetings
  • Able to influence project team members to ensure consistency of approach
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills
  • Well organized, flexible and someone who likes to work under challenges and pressure and can demonstrate a high level of personal resilience
  • Proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Experience of working with various stakeholders up to a senior level.
