    Production Manager Nights Job Overview

    We are seeking a Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing processes on the night shift at our FMCG manufacturer based in the Caerphilly area.

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that production runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely while meeting quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manufacture all products according to plan, specification, and quality while minimizing waste and optimizing costs using Modern Lean Manufacturing techniques.
    • Maintain an understanding of upcoming production requirements, resource allocation, skill development, and material needs.
    • Monitor and address key performance indicators (KPIs) including labour costs, yield, wastage, customer service, plan completion, quality reports, absence, and other associated metrics.
    • Ensure team members are suitably trained, understand their objectives, meet quality standards, are punctual, and motivated.
    • Develop and implement training plans, maintain training records, and liaise with the training department as necessary.
    • Appoint deputies to cover absences and have responsibility for performance, conduct, attendance, timekeeping, investigations, and disciplinary actions for employees under their control.
    • Liaise with the Head of Operations on recruitment matters and ensure timely completion of return-to-work forms after absences.
    • Participate in departmental Tiered meetings and maintain accurate documentation and IT system information.
    • Ensure a safe working environment, including clean areas, proper PPE, and compliance with SSOW procedures and health and safety improvement activities.
    • Collaborate with the New Product Development team and technical team to successfully launch new products.
    • Liaise with other departments to resolve problems and provide solutions within company policies and procedures.

    Job Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you should have:

    • Experience as a Production Manager in the FMCG industry.
    • A strong background in supply chain management, continuous improvement, and mechanical knowledge.
    • Ability to work night shifts (6pm-6am) 7 days a fortnight.
    • Commutable distance from Caerphilly.
    • Eligibility to work in the UK.

    Salary and Benefits

    This position offers a competitive salary range of £40,000-£45,000 per annum, plus full benefits discussed during the interview process.
