About the role

As an Environmental Compliance Manager, you will be supporting business units site management teams in the day to day compliance with safety, health, environmental and training needs.

You will also support maintenance of the ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certificationsalong with company wide business objectives.

About you - Essential Requirements

  • Coordinate, manage and communicate all health & safety systems and procedures.
  • Assist SLT and EHS Managers to own and implement ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, legal requirements and best practice.
  • Review new legislation advising managers on their impact, and advise Group EHS Manager of the changes required to Group EHS Management systems and policies.
  • Build on group systems and policies, to ensure compliance and to develop a culture where health and safety is at least as important as anything else we do.
  • Assist the Senior Leadership team / operational management in accident investigations
  • Audit the effectiveness of policies and systems across all Business Units
  • Assist with the effective close out of audit and inspection findings with all EHS Managers
  • Quarterly tracking of all Business units / sites objectives, targets and key performance indicators.
  • Assist with the maintenance the environmental, health and safety management systems (Risk Management Standards).
  • Deliver and organise health, safety and environmental training as necessary.
  • Lead claim investigations, collate evidence and liaise with insurance provider as necessary to bring the claim to a conclusion.
  • BAT gap analysis completion, tracking of actions, for all agriculture permits.
About you - Desired Requirements

  • Have a good understanding of health and safety legislation
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ideally membership of IOSH
  • Awareness of environmental issues, particularly where they link with health and safety compliance.
  • Previous experience on multisite operational role, although food manufacturing, distribution or agricultural experience would be an advantage
  • Good time management skills and able to prioritise workloads / outputs
  • Competent in the use of IT systems
  • Pragmatic approach, ability to influence managers to implement and own health, safety and environmental issues themselves, working within a team environment
  • The role will require occasional nights away from home, (and extensive travel, so a Company car will be provided)
