The Company
Nutrition Group PLC is a leading manufacturer of vitamin, mineral and herbal

supplements in tablet and hard gel capsule formats selling to some of Europe's largest

healthcare organisations from its state of the art facility accredited by the MHRA, BRC

& ISO standards. We are a future focused organisation which has recently invested

in a multi-million-pound protein bar and snack manufacturing facility with the aim to

expand into a fast-growing market.


Role Summary
The quality control operative will be responsible for ensuring quality control tasks are

completed in a timely manner to support the Q.C. manager and the quality control department.


Key Roles and Responsibilities
-
Daily calibration of the factory scales and other equipment.

  • Monitor and audit critical control points (CCP's) when required.
  • Monitor product safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas through swab monitoring.
  • Perform QC audits and inspections on products, equipment, machinery, and cleanroom environments when required.
  • Perform product conformance checks including, average weight, uniformity of weight, disintegration, and friability testing.
  • Collect and prepare samples for inhouse testing and/or shipment to external laboratories when required.
  • Record written records of any analytical and any other work carried out.
  • Help in ensuring that the QC department's output continuously meets the required standard.
  • Provide advice to other departments when required on product quality and food safety practices.
  • Assist in the control the quality control quarantine area.
  • Assist in the sampling and testing of raw materials, inprocess samples, finished products and the checking of labels and other packing components.
  • Reporting any nonconformities and taking appropriate corrective actions.
  • Positive release of products when required.

Essential Skills

  • Good communicational and organisation skills.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Word & Excel).
  • Good attention to detail skills.
  • The ability to work independently.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience working within the food industry.
  • Previous experience working in a quality control environment.


Due to the development and changing nature of quality/technical requirements within the business it is essential that you are flexible and will carry out occasional or new tasks as required.


Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
From £11.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
