Summary


Direct the strategic planning and implementation of enterprise-wide information technology systems to ensure business processes lead to a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

The role is the primary interface for Enterprise-wide solutions and the business/divisions, ensuring alignment between business strategy and the Enterprise IT roadmap.

The role will maintain an awareness of the global needs of QBE and employ and promote the benefits that a common approach to information technology deployment will bring to the business.

They will coordinate the promotion, acquisition, development, and implementation of information systems and services to support those responsible for the managing the business function.

The role must also drive and enable the achievement of business goals, advance transformative change and contribute towards the overall effectiveness of the Group.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Establish and support the functional teams in the generation and execution of the IT Strategy Roadmap, ensuring global alignment and in accordance with industry best practice.
  • Develop Functional Platform services capability, strategic plan and priorities by partnering with group, divisional & IT Heads to define business needs, assessing industry trends to identify opportunities to enhance existing and planned solutions and developing service delivery standards to produce desired results and increase efficiency, responsiveness and effectiveness.
  • Strong governance approach and bringing enterprise thinking together and facilitating architecture forums.
  • Forge strong professional and personal relationships by partnering with executive leaders, market leaders and information technology departments and sharing information to champion and influence.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills to all levels of the organization about technology.
  • Drive the adoption of continuous improvement initiatives on Enterprisewide tooling.
  • Adhere to technology security and privacy strategy by partnering with the appropriate teams.
  • Continuously seek out opportunities to consolidate and align hardware, software, technology, tools, processes and vendors used to provide services across the group.
  • Build positive, open and constructive relationships with key stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets current and future business needs.
  • Develop clear engagement and charging models to ensure alignment and transparency to supported business partners.
  • Plan, allocate and manage financial budget by anticipating expenditures, accurately forecasting resource needs/costs and properly accounting for expenses to meet requirements and achieve fiscal responsibility.
Your experience so far

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 10+ years relevant experience (ideally from a Big 4 management consulting firm) but not essential.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills to all levels of the organization about technology.
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills, capable of establishing and maintaining relationships across the business and influencing design and policy where required.
  • Establish longrange objectives and specify the strategies and actions to achieve them.
