The role
Opportunity for a recent graduate to gain 12 months' paid experience working for a leading film distributor.

As an intern you will be integrated into day-to-day commercial activities and will have the opportunity to make a contribution to the work of UIP, particularly our Non-Theatrical Sales (NT Sales) and Finance departments, and gain skills and experience by providing a range of administrative and support services.

About UIP


United International Pictures (UIP) was formed in 1981 and is jointly owned by its Partners, Paramount Pictures and Universal Pictures.

Since its formation UIP has distributed over 1,000 films including more than 100 Academy Award winners. UIP continues to bring many of the most exciting films made today to international cinema audiences.

Based in Chiswick, West London and with distribution offices in 15 countries and licensees in a further 65, UIP distributes Paramount and Universal films to cinemas in Europe, Latin America and the Far East.

About NT Sales


The Non-Theatrical department is a small team responsible for international licensing of group screenings outside cinemas and homes (hotels, hospitals, transportation, schools, film societies, etc.).

The team also handles theatrical library screenings such as re-issues of Grease, Mama Mia, Jaws, Back to the Future, and Jurassic Park to name but a few.

About Finance

The Finance department looks after the accounting for all 15 operating companies, our licencees and the London Head Office.

Areas of involvement


  • Handling screening approvals processes
  • Maintaining and updating sales and screening request trackers, and the database of customers' technical specs and systems
  • Checking rights, availability and marketing materials for theatrical sales
Assisting with non-theatrical rights queries and answering non-theatrical enquiries


  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting
  • Assist with administration of home media titles
  • General accounting administration such as checking reconciliations, updating spreadsheets
  • Assist with the co-ordination of finance projects.
Qualifications/Requirements


  • Good analytical skills gained from a relevant degree and/or work experience
  • Strong office administration and IT skills: confident user of MS office and at least intermediate Excel skills
  • A good eye for detail and very well organised
  • Good level of numeracy - at least a pass in GCSE Maths
  • Confident telephone manner with the ability to deal effectively at all levels in an international environment
  • Good written English and spelling
