If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our caring team as a Senior Residential Care Worker at our Children's Residential Care Home in Manchester.


As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and supportive environment for children in need of residential care.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the well-being, safety, and growth of the children under your care.

You will lead a team of compassionate care workers, providing guidance and support to maintain the highest standards of care.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide direct care and support to children, assisting them with daily activities, personal care, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Lead and supervise a team of care workers, offering guidance, support, and training as needed.
  • Implement personalised care plans and individual support programs tailored to the specific needs of each child.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued, and respected.
  • Collaborate with external professionals, such as social workers, therapists, and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care and support for the children.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of each child's progress, incidents, and observations.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in residential care, preferably within a children's residential care setting.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or a related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building rapport with children, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience to handle challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of child development, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.


We offer a competitive pay rate of £11.50 per hour, with an OTE (on-target earnings) circa £30,000, based on full-time hours.
