Salary:
£42,781 to £55,000 + On-call + Benefits

The Security, Service and Operations team delivers change quickly, operates our IT services securely and embraces new technology to drive service excellence for our 5 million customers and 3,500 colleagues.

We are now looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join us on this journey.

This means no two days will ever be the same but as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will need to really own it and can expect your role to involve:

Implementing, maintaining, upgrading and supporting (3rd Line) the existing Infrastructure in line with the defined IT business plan and agreed patching and maintenance schedules.
Contributing to the IT standards and governing adherence to them.
Proactively lead and embed robust change within the use of the server, cloud, storage and backup infrastructure technologies.
Provide assistance across Operations and Support teams with SAMANAGE support activities in standard working hours if and when necessary.

It goes without saying that we are looking for individuals who are great communicators and comfortable conversing and influencing senior leadership stakeholders.

A Senior Cloud Engineer who fosters a culture of excellence by defining and refining methods,standards, governance and assurance and is a technical expert and champion of data, technology and analytics throughout everything they do.

What skills are we looking for:

Essential:

Experience of build, delivery and administration of robust and reliable infrastructure services (incorporating VMware, Windows, Azure) within a complex and varied enterprise environment, with a proven track record of driving sustainable performance againstchallenging business targets, in one or more of the following technical disciplines:
Server & Cloud Technologies (hardware architecture and resilience, operating systems, authentication, security principles and technologies, virtualisation, deployment and management, DNS, DHCP, AD & Group Policy)

Storage Technologies (local storage options, SAN attached storage technology including fabric, data categorisation,

Backup Technologies (client and server architectures and solutions, Virtual Tape Libraries) Knowledge of Storage Technology Tooling including IBM Spectrum Protect, Spectrum Protect Plus, IBM Tivoli storage manager)

Knowledge/Experience of VMware Product Suite
Knowledge/Experience of Azure Product Stack
Knowledge / Experience of Microsoft Active Directory
Knowledge/Experience of Microsoft SQL Server, IIS, SCCM
